361 Degrees robotics team is passionate about giving back to our community through STEM workshops and outreach. So far, we have reached approximately 150 community members through events, including technical workshops and awareness sessions.
On August 2nd, 2025, we hosted a fun and hands on STEM workshop "Robotics Circuits and Mechanics-Hands on" for over 25 kids in 3rd to 6th grade. They got hands-on experience creating and exploring electrical circuits and making the harder concepts of electrical engineering accessible to younger kids with play dough. They also explored mechanical concepts like pulleys, levers, linkages etc., through interactive workstations.
The feedback from both kids and parents were rewarding. Many requested a second workshop at the temple, and we’re excited to make that happen!
On September 6, at the DECODE season Kickoff, our team hosted a coding workshop at San Jacinto College, introducing participants to the journey from FTC Blocks to Java. This interactive session helped both new and experienced teams understand the transition from visual programming to Java coding.
The event was a success, with many teams praising our clear explanations and demonstrations. Attendees left with a deeper understanding of how to use both programming styles to improve their robots and competition performance.
We’re thrilled to have contributed to expanding knowledge within the FTC community and excited by the collaborative spirit that was shared!
